

A popular lecturer at home and abroad, she co-hosted weekly opera radio broadcasts on King-FM and served on advisory boards for University of Washington’s School of Music, King-FM, Seattle Science Festival, and OPERA America.Īt Houston Grand Opera, Sue created the company’s award-winning Song of Houston initiative – a revolutionary model for new work, learning, and community engagement. She commissioned their first community-inspired work, An American Dream, and produced the most successful Ring Festival in company history. At Seattle Opera, she led a redesign of public programs that tripled participation, revenue, and designated contributions.

Prior to the RCM, she worked for two decades as an opera educator, new work producer, lecturer, and event organizer. Sue currently directs professional development, certificate, and accreditation programs for private music teachers at The Royal Conservatory of Music and presents opera talks around the world.
